A New Venture in a Short Timeframe

Harbour City Ferries (HCF), a collaboration between Veolia Transdev and Transfield Services, is the operator of Sydney Ferries. In their role as Project Managers APP Corporation engaged Graphite Projects under a Construction Management agreement to deliver the fitout of HCF’s new offices at Level 19, 9 Hunter St Sydney.

Responding to the clients need to commence operations by 22nd July 2012, the Project team procured and constructed works under an open book progressive-let Construction Management model in less than five weeks.

The design by Futurespace featured open-plan workstation areas, a communications room and a utility room. The reception area features timber panelled walls and ceilings resembling the hull of a ship. A dual-purpose breakout and casual meeting space is enclosed via the use of operable plantation shutters created a welcoming and productive environment for staff.

All services within the tenancy required alteration including; mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, communications and fire. Audio visual and video conference facilities were also installed.

The cooperative working relationship that quickly developed between Graphite Projects, Futurespace and APP Corporation ensured on-time project delivery, within budget, and well in excess of the client’s expectations.

Graphite Projects brings to the Sydney fitout construction market the wake up it needs – highly experienced people who actually know how to build things – and they do it well and efficiently. Our project would not have been possible without them.
